The New Life in Christ: For the LORD is a God of Justice.

Ah, you who make iniquitous decrees, who write oppressive statutes, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be your spoil, and that you may make the orphans your prey! Isaiah 10:1-2.
O LORD of hosts, you test the righteous, you see the heart and the mind; let me see your retribution upon them, for to you I have committed my cause. Jeremiah 20:12.
My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants. Psalm 92:11.
Amen.

The New Life in Christ: The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Isaiah 50:4.

The LORD who made you, who formed you in the womb says “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” will help you. Isaiah 43:1.
Listen to me, who have borne by me from your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am he, even when you turn gray I will carry you. I have made, I will bear; I will carry and will save. Isaiah 46:3-4.
Can a woman forget her nursing child, or show no compassion for the child of her womb?
Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15.
As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you; Isaiah 66:13.

Amen.

The New Life in Christ: An Invitation to Abundant Life:

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst,
I the LORD will answer them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
Isaiah 41:17.
For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground;
Isaiah 44:3.
Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread?
and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Isaiah 55:1-2.
(Do you have spiritual thirst or material thirst? Test yourselves.)
Amen.

The New Life in Christ: Faith without Works Is Dead.

What is good, if you say you have faith but do not have works?
Can faith alone save you?
If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go, in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?
So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. James 2:14-17 & 2:26.

Amen.

The New Life in Christ: Warning against Partiality:

Do you with your acts of favoritism really believe in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ?
For if a person with gold rings and in fine clothes comes into the assembly, and if a poor person in dirty clothes also comes in, and if you take notice of the one wearing the fine clothes and say, ‘Have a seat here, please,” while to the one who is poor you say, “Stand there,” or “Sit at my feet,” have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, has not God chosen the poor in the world to be rich in faith and to be heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?
But you have dishonored the poor.
If you show partiality, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.
James 2:1-10.

Amen.

The New Life in Christ: Will not God grant justice to his chosen ones? Luke 18:7.

Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart.
He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him saying, ‘Grant me justice against my opponent.”
For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.’
And the LORD said, ‘Listen to what the unjust judge says.
And will not God grant justice to his chosen one who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them?
I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. Luke 18:1-8.
For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14.
Are you the called one or the chosen one?

Amen.

The New Life in Christ: “All things can be done for the one who believes”, Jesus said.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt …and
if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.
Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.” Matthew 21:21-22.
Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you. So, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:23-24.
“If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Luke 17:6.
Increase our faith.

 Amen.
