The New Life In Christ - Jesus, the Way to the Father:

Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater work than these…

If you love me, you will keep my commandments… They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; …

Those who love me will keep my word… John 14: 12, 15, 21 & 23. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Fight the good fight of the faith:

But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence many witnesses. 1Timothy 6:11-12. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Concerning Judgment

Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment. John 7:24.

You judge by human standards; I judge no one. Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is valid; for it is not I alone judge, but I and the Father… John 8:15-16.

The one who rejects me and does not receive my word has a judge; on the last day the word that I have spoken will serve as judge… John 12:48. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Living For God

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.

So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good. 1Peter 4:1-2 & 4:19.

Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; 1John 3:10. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - The Real Baptism

And baptism, which this prefigured, now saves you - not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ… 1Peter 3:21.

“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Sprit” … “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Acts 2:38 & 40.

 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Live in harmony with one another. Romans 12:16.

Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently anything, this too God will reveal to you. Only let us hold fast to what we have attained. Philippians 3:15-16.

…by the name of our Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose. 1Corinthians 1:10. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - The Word of God: Living and Active

…All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. 2Timothy 3:16-17. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Wisdom, Insight & Revelation… the Spiritual Blessings in Christ:

…in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding…our Lord Jesus Christ,… may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation,…the eyes of your heart may be enlightened… Ephesians 1:7-8 & 17:18.

Then we will be no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men… Ephesians 4:14. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Image of the Creator

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:46-48.

Whoever says, “I have come to know him,” but does not obey his commandments, is a liar, and in such a person the truth does not exist…whoever says, “I abide in him,” ought to walk just as he walked.      1John 1:4-6.

…for this is your acceptable duty in the Lord. Colossians 3:20. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Concerning Spiritual Blessings

When you are full (satisfied with material blessings), not even honey tastes good (the word of God), but when you are hungry (seeks spiritual blessings), even something bitter tastes sweets (the teachings of God) Proverbs 27:7. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Concerning Glory

For he will repay according to each one’s deeds; to those who by patiently doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; Romans 2:6-7.

And let us considered how to provoke one another to love and good deeds… Hebrews 10:24.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in Heaven. Matthew 5:16. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Suffering to Doing Right

For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God’s will, than to suffer for doing evil. 1Peter 3:17.

 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps. 1Peter 2:21.

Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin. James 4:17. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - All must test their own works; Galatians 6:4.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Matthew 7:21.

The Lord said:

Because those people draw near with their mouths and honor me with their lips, while their hearts are far from me… Isaiah 29:13.

Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:4. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - The Purpose Of His Gifts

The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to measure of the full stature of Christ. We must no longer be children… we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ… Ephesians 4:11-15. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - A Fair Balance

…give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food I need, or I shall be full, and deny you, and say, “Who is Lord?” or I shall be poor, and steel, and profane the name of my God. Proverbs 30:8-9.

…and be satisfied with your wages…Luke 3:14.

Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; Hebrews 13:5. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Whoever is from God hears the word of God… James 8:47

I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. I do not turn away from your ordinances, for you have taught me. Psalm 119:101-102.

… “My mother and my brother are those who hear the word of God and do” Jesus said to them. Luke 8:21.

For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. James 2:10. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Hearing and Doing the Word

…be doers of the word and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves in a mirror; for they look at themselves and, on going away, immediately forget what they were like. But those who look into the perfect law…and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act- they will be blessed in their doing. James 1:22-25. Amen.

The New Life In The Christ - Rules for the New Life

…lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

…you must no longer live as the Gentiles live, in the futility of their minds…That is not the way you learned Christ!

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God… Ephesians 4: 1-3, 4:17-20 and 4:30. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - The Work of the Spirit and The Life in the Spirit

…the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. John 14:26.

And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgement:

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; …He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you.  John 16:8 and 16:13-14.

Got Holy Spirit?

All must test their own work; Galatians 6:4. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - For we are (only) God’s servants, working together; 1Corinthians 3:9.

Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?      1Corinthians 1:13-14.

What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, as Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.

So let no one boast about human leaders. 1Corinthians 3:5-7 and 3:21. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Try to find out what is pleasing to the Lord. Ephesians 5:10.

So he (Jesus) said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings is an abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:15. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him… Romans 8:9. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Galatians 5:24. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Fight the good fight of the faith. 1Timothy 6:12.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6. Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching; 1Timothy 5:17. Do your best to present yourselves to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth. 2Timothy 2:15. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - “Do you also wish to go away?” Jesus asked… John 6:67.

… the gospel; for I did not receive it from a human source, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:11-12.

 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness, but we have one who in every respect has been tested, as we are, yet with out sin. Hebrews 4:15. If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. James 1:5. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - You received without payment; give without payment. Matthew 10:8.

In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the Gospel should get their living by the gospel. But I have made no use of any of these rights…, for an obligation laid on me. What then is my reward? Just this: that in my proclamation I may make the gospel free of charge… 1Corinthians 9:14-18. …we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. 1Thessalonians 2:9. … but with toil and labor we worked night and day,… but in order to give you an example to imitate. 2Thessalonians 3:8-9.  … observe those who live according to the example…Philippians 3:17. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - But this is the one to whom I will look... Isaiah 66:1-2.

He (Jesus Christ) is the head of the body, the church; Colossians 1:18.

Thus says the Lord: Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is my resting place? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look, to the humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at my word. Isaiah 66:1-2. So I do not run aimlessly… 1Corinthians 9:26. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - The Image of Christ...

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. … No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness …and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness. Romans 6:5 and 6:13.

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son… Romans 8:29. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - I do not nullify the grace of God…then Christ died for nothing. Galatians 2:21.

And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts …“Abba! Father!” Galatians 4:6.

…no one becomes like Esau, an immoral and godless person, who sold his birthright (the grace of God) for a single meal (for the material desires). You know that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, even though he sought the blessing with tears. Hebrews 12:16-17. Amen.

The New Life In Christ - Concerning Treasures and Riches

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth…but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21. …and be satisfied with your wages. Luke 3:14. Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; Hebrews 13:5. Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it. Proverbs 15:16. A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches. Proverbs 22:1. Amen.
