Remember the long way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, in order to humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commandments. He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna…in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Deuteronomy 8:2-3.
For the LORD your God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God and awesome, who is not partial and takes no bribe. Deuteronomy 10:17.
For I know how many are you transgressions, and how great are your sins-you who afflict the righteous, who take a bribe and push aside the needy in the gate.
Hate evil and love good, establish justice in the gate; Amos 5:12 & 5:15.
“Everything they do is done for men to see:...they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted in the marketplaces… Matthew 23:5-7.
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have… Hebrews 13:5.
But godliness with contentment is great grain. 1Timothy 6:6.
Each one should test his own actions. Galatians 6:4. Amen.
