But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was expect through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “Do not covet.” Romans 7:6-7.
For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature. God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. James 3:13.
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
So that no one may boast before him.
Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” 1Corinthians 1:27 & 1:29 & 1:31. Amen.
