As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been born blind. His followers asked him, “Teacher, whose sin caused this man to be born blind-his own sin or his parents’ sin?”
Jesus answered, “It is not this man’s sin or his parents’ sin that made him be blind. This man was born blind so that God’s power could be shown in him. John 9:1-3.
A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in the town, where Mary and his sister Martha lived. Mary was the woman who later put perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair. Mary’s brother was Lazarus, the man who was now sick. So Mary and Martha sent someone to tell Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”
When Jesus heard this, he said, “This sickness will not end in death. It is for the glory of God, to bring the glory to the Son of God. John 11:1-4. Amen.
