My child, if you accept my words and treasure up my commandments within you,
making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;
if you indeed cry out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding;
If you seek it like silver, and search for it as for hidden treasures-
then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:1-6.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever else you get insight. Proverbs 4:7.
Keep hold of instructions; do not let go; guard her, for she is your life. Proverbs 4:13.
The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. Proverbs 8:13.
Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight. Proverbs 12:22.
Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it. Proverbs 15:16.
For human ways are under the eyes of the LORD, and he examines all their paths. Proverbs 5:21. Amen.
