These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teaching are but rules taught by men. Matthew 15:8-9.
They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Matthew 23:4.
When you sin against…in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 1Corinthians 8:12.
Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” Luke 14:12-14.
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. Luke 16:10.
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. James 2:10. Amen.
