Sunday 30 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. 1Corinthians 8:11.

Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and whom we live; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
When you sin against your brother in this way and wound the weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 1Corinthians 8:1-12. Amen.

Saturday 29 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: My times are in your hand; Psalm 31:15.

For the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the perish forever. Psalm 9:18.
They think in their heart, “God has forgotten, he has hidden his face, he will never see it.”
Rise up, O LORD; O God, lift up your hand; do not forget the oppressed. Psalm 10:11-12.
Consider and answer me, O LORD, my God! Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death, and my enemy will say, “I have prevailed”; Psalm 13:3-4.
Guard me as the apple of the eye; Psalm 17:8. Amen.

Friday 28 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: For the LORD hears the needy, and does not despise his own that are in bonds. Psalm 69:33.

But I am a worm, and not human; scorned by others, and despise by the people. All who see me mock at me; they make mouths at me, they shake their heads; “Commit your cause to the LORD; let him deliver-let him rescue the one in whom he delights!” Psalm 22:6-8.
Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions… For your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my guilt for it is great. Psalm 25:7 & 25:11.
Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins. Psalm 25:18. Amen.

The New Life In Christ: Turn my heart to your decrees and not to selfish gain. Psalm 119:36.

Those who trust in their riches will wither, but the righteous will flourish like green leaves. Proverbs 11:28.
Those who are greedy for unjust gain make trouble for their households, but those who hate bribes will live. Proverbs 15:27.
Better is a little with righteousness than large income with injustice. Proverbs 16:8. Amen.

The New Life In Christ: …a word in season, how good it is! Proverbs 15:23.

Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle, but those who gather little by little will increase it. Proverbs 13:11.
Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it. Proverbs 15:16.
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. Proverbs 22:1. Amen.

The New Life In Christ: The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. 1Thessalonians 5:24.

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;
…After that, he poured water in a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
…When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them.
…Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. John 13:3-17. Amen.

The New Life In Christ: But the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. Hebrews 4:2.

Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
Do not deceive yourselves. If anyone of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
So then, no more boasting about men! 1Corinthians 3:16-21. Amen.

The New Life In Christ: “Your faith has healed you.” Matthew 9:22.

The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed…”
When Jesus heard this…he said, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith…”
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very hour. Matthew 8:8-13.
Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
Jesus turned and saw her, “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from the moment. Matthew 9:20-22. Amen.

The New life In Christ: “But the Scriptures must be full filled.” Mark 14:49.

“You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written:
“I will strike the shepherd
and the sheep will be scattered,” Mark 14:27.
“Am I leading a rebellion,” said Jesus, “that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Everyday I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” Mark 14:48-49.
He (Jesus) said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me
Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day… Luke 24:44-46.
This happened that the Scriptures might be fulfilled which said,
“The divided my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing.” John 19:24. Amen.

Friday 21 September 2012

The New life In Christ: For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses but we have one who has been tempted in every way just as we are-yet was without sin. Hebrews 4:15.

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need some one to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity… Hebrews 5:12-14 & 6:1-2. Amen.

Thursday 20 September 2012

The New life In Christ: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. Hebrews 4:12-13. Amen.

Wednesday 19 September 2012

The New life In Christ: As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. 1John 2:27.

But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit-just as it as taught you, remain in him. 1John 2:27.
This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 1John 3:11.
If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us.
For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 1John 3:17-20. Amen.

Tuesday 18 September 2012

The New life In Christ: But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. 1John 2:20. Each one should test his own actions. Galatians 6:4.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1John 2:15-17. Amen.

Monday 17 September 2012

The New life In Christ: The one who is throwing you into confusion will pay the penalty, whoever he may be. Galatians 5:10.

You were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13.
The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:14 & 5:6.
So…live by Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Galatians 5:16.
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2.
Each one should test his own actions. Galatians 6:4. Amen.

Sunday 16 September 2012

The New life In Christ: You must not be partial in judging: …for the judgment is God’s. Deuteronomy 1:17.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say, “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Titus 2:11-15.
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. 2John 1:10. Amen.

Saturday 15 September 2012

The New life In Christ: Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you.1 Genesis 18:25.

Abraham came near (to the LORD) and said, “Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there are fifty righteous with in the city;
And the LORD said, “If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will forgive the whole place for their sake.”
Abraham answered, “…Suppose five of the fifty righteous are lacking?”
…And he (the LORD) said, “I will not destroy…”
Again he spoke to him, “Suppose forty are found there.”
He answered, “For the sake of forty I will not do it.”
Then he said, “…Suppose thirty are found there.”
He answered, “I will not do it…”
He said, “…Suppose twenty are found there.”
He answered, “For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it.”
Then he said, “…Suppose ten are found there.”
He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” Genesis 18:23-32. Amen.

Friday 14 September 2012

The New life In Christ: “O Lord GOD, how am I (Abram) to know that I shall possess it?” Genesis 15:8.

He (the LORD) said to him, “Bring me heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove and a young pigeon.” Hr brought him all these and cut them in two, laying half over against the other; but he did not cut the birds each in two. And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses Abram drove them away.
…When the sun had gone down and it was dark, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram… Genesis 15: 9-11 & 15:17-18.
And he (Abram) believed the LORD; and the LORD reckoned it to him as righteousness. Genesis 15:6. Amen.

Thursday 13 September 2012

The New life In Christ: So Lot chose for himself all the plain of the Jordan, and Lot journeyed eastward; Genesis 13:11.

Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the plain and moved his tent as for as Sodom.
Now the people of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD. Genesis 13:12-13.
…So the enemy took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way; they also took Lot…who lived in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. Genesis 14:11-12.
When Abram heard that his nephew had been taken captive…he divided his forces against them by night. Then he brought back all the goods, and also his nephew Lot with his goods, and the women and the people. Genesis 14:13-16.
(But) The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Raise your eyes now…for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. Genesis 13:14.
(Leave your decisions to the LORD and He himself will make those decisions worthy.) Amen.

Wednesday 12 September 2012

The New life In Christ: And if you do not do well. Sin is lurking at the door; Genesis 4:7.

In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel for his part brought of the firstlings of his flock, their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. The LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your countenance fallen?”
…Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let us go out to the field,” And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel, and killed him.
…And the LORD said, “What have you done? Listen; your brother’s is crying out to me from the ground! And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. Genesis 4:3-11. Amen.

Tuesday 11 September 2012

The New life In Christ: You received without payment; give without payment. Matthew 10:8.

In the same way, the LORD commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel. But I have made no use of any of these rights…for an obligation is load on me… What then is my reward? Just this: that in my proclamation I make the gospel free of charge… 1Corinthians 9:14-18.
…I worked with my own hands to support myself and my companions… I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the LORD Jesus, for he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:34-35.
And now, Lord…grant to your servants to speak your word with boldness, while you stretch out your hand, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant, Christ Jesus. Acts 4:29. Amen.

Monday 10 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: And the LORD God commanded the man, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat…” Genesis 2:16-17.

He (the LORD) said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat? The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate.” Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done? The woman said, “The serpent tricked me, and I ate.” Genesis 3:11-13.
(We ourselves are the responsible for our own evil thoughts & doings. We should not blame others.) Amen.

Sunday 9 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without work is also dead. James 2:26.

And they shall not teach one another or say to each other, “Know the Lord”, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. Hebrews 8:11.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in Heaven. Matthew 5:16.
I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6. Amen.

Saturday 8 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: God was with him and rescued him from all his afflictions…Acts 7:9.

It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom all things exist in bringing many children to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Hebrews 2:10.
And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you, to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you. 1Peter 1:5:10.
Be patient in suffering. Romans 12:12. Amen.

Friday 7 September 2012

The New life In Christ: “Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost” John 6:12.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ…
So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; Ephesians 2:13 2:17.
…and we are his house if we hold firm the confidence and the pride that belong to hope.
For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
So we see that they were unstable to enter because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:6 & 3:14 and 3:19. Amen.

Thursday 6 September 2012

The New life In Christ: Let the same mind be in you that was in Jesus Christ… Philippians 2:5.

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:46-48.
Whoever says, “I have come to know him,” but does not obey his commandments, is a liar, and in such a person the truth does not exist… whoever says, “I abide in him,” ought to walk just as he walked.            1John 1:4-6.
…We are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: When he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. And all who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. 1John 3:2-3. Amen.

Wednesday 5 September 2012

The New life In Christ: See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse. Deuteronomy 11:26.

If you will only heed his every commandments that I commanding you today-loving the LORD your Go, and serving him with all your heart and with all your soul-then he will give the rain for your land in its season… and you will gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil;
You shall put these words of mine in your heart and soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and fix them as an emblem on your forehead. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Deuteronomy 11:13-15.
The eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Deuteronomy 11:12. Amen.

Tuesday 4 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: Keeping God’s commands is what counts. 1Corinthians 7:19.

Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law ( though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law) so as to win those not having the law. To the weak, I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings.1Corinthians 9:19-23.
Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; 1Corinthians 9:26.
 Amen.

Monday 3 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. Acts 10:34.

If then God gave them the same gift that he gave us when he believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could hinder God?
…Then God has given to the Gentiles the repentance that leads life. Acts 11:17-18.
And from those, who were supposed to be acknowledged leaders (What the actually were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality)-those leaders contributed nothing to me. Galatians 2:6.
For it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.” Romans 2:24. Amen.

Sunday 2 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: …the Holy Spirit will teach everything and remind you of all that I have said to you. John 14:26.

Anyone who resolves to do the will of God will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own… John 7:17.
I do nothing on my own, but I speak these things as the Father instructed me… John 8:28.
Whoever is from God hears the words of God… John 8:47.
Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater work than these…
If you love me, you will keep my commandments…
They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me;
Those who love me will keep my word… John 14:12, 14:15, 14:21, 14:23.
Amen.

Saturday 1 September 2012

The New Life In Christ: The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of GOD who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20.

God does not judge by external appearance. Galatians 2:6.
All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. Galatians 2:10.
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life-in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. Philippians 2:14-16.
find out what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:10. Amen.
